Avacta Group plc ("the Company") Total Voting Rights Update

The Company announces that as at 5 April 2007, its issued share capital consists of 777,727,342 ordinary shares of 0.1p each ("Ordinary Shares"), all with equal voting rights. No shares were held in treasury at the date of this announcement. The total number of current voting rights in the Company is therefore 777,727,342.

The above figure (777,727,342) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculation by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interests in, or a change in their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
