Atkins to sell Polish business to Multiconsult AS

WS Atkins plc ("Atkins" or "the Group") announces it has reached agreement to sell its Polish business to Multiconsult AS, a Norwegian multidisciplinary consultancy and design business, for a cash consideration of Β£2.8m (3.5m Euros).

This business, which employs 77 people, reported revenue of Β£5.0m in the year to 31 March 2014.

Prof Dr Uwe Krueger, chief executive officer, commented: "The sale of our Polish business is a further step forward in the implementation of our strategy to optimise our portfolio of businesses, and focus our investment in markets where the Group can deliver profitable growth."

The transaction is due to complete in September 2014.
