WS Atkins plc (Atkins) announces that, having served on the Board for nine years, Lord Boyce, senior independent director, will retire following the conclusion of the Company's annual general meeting to be held on 31 July 2013.

Fiona Clutterbuck, who joined the Board as a non-executive director in March 2007, will assume the role of senior independent director from the conclusion of the Company's annual general meeting on 31 July 2013.

Allan Cook, chairman, said: "Lord Boyce has made a tremendous contribution to Atkins. His carefully considered advice and counsel has been much appreciated by the Company and the Board of directors. I wish him every success for the future. I am delighted that Fiona has agreed to assume the role of senior independent director."
