On 26 January 2009 OAO Tatneft ("Tatneft" or the "Company") issued a press release addressing certain results of 2008 (the "Press Release") discussed at the annual conference of Tatneft's employees that took place on 26 January 2009.
The preliminary non-consolidated results of the Company for 2008 that were discussed in the Press Release included, inter alia:
the Company's oil production in 2008 is 25 766 000 tons of crude in 2008, an increase of almost 25 000 tons from 2007;
sales in 2008 expected to be 214 bln rubles, an increase of 19 bln rubles from 2007;
Tatneft's profits before tax in 2008 would be approximately 49 billion rubles.
Further Tatneft's 2008 results and activities were discussed in the Press Release:
Tatneft continued tests of technology for pilot production of bitumen on Ashalchinsky oil field with average debit of 35.6 tons per day. So far, 19.7 thousand tons of bitumen oil were produced;
the Company continued its environmental and social activities; and
further, Tatneft's employees accepted the terms of a new collective agreement for 2009.
