Ascent Resources plc, the AIM listed oil and gas exploration and production company, announces that it was notified on 10 December 2011 of the following share purchase by a Director:

On 9 December 2011, Jeremy Eng, Managing Director, purchased 1,349,822 ordinary shares at 2.8p per share. Mr Eng is now interested in a total of 7,331,712 ordinary shares representing 0.71% of the existing issued share capital.

Ascent Resources plc has a diversified portfolio of hydrocarbon exploration and development interests across five countries in Europe: Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia and Netherlands.
