Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 24 October 2008 it purchased 188,205 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 135.8301 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 144.375 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 131.00 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 1,868,239 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 707,056,761 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 707,056,761 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
