Freda Rebecca Gold Mine Receives ISO 14001 and OHAS 18001 Certification

Mwana Africa PLC is pleased to announce that its Freda Rebecca Gold Mine ("FRGM") in Zimbabwe has received ISO 14001 and OHAS 18001 certification, internationally recognised standards for sustainable environmental management and occupational health & safety management systems.

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that provides a framework for environmental management, measurement, evaluation and auditing to assist companies in:

·; minimising the negative impact of their operation on the environment

·; complying with applicable laws, regulations and other environmentally oriented requirements

·; striving for continuous and sustainable improvement

OHAS 18001 is a standard for occupational health & safety management systems and it exists to assist businesses to implement rigorous measures to promote a safe and healthy working environment. OHAS 18001 provides a framework that helps organisations to:

·; consistently identify and control health and safety risks

·; reduce the potential for accidents in the workplace

·; improve legislative compliance

·; improve overall performance

FRGM underwent a formal third party audit process by the internationally recognised accreditation and certification body, DQS, and successfully complied with the stringent requirements.
