Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Mwana Africa PLC today announces that Mr. Yat Hoi Ning will be joining the Board as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 7 June 2012.

Mr. Ning through his investment vehicle China International Mining Group Corporation had subscribed US$21.2 million for 242,424,282 new ordinary shares in Mwana Africa PLC on 20 April 2012, representing a 22% interest in the enlarged share capital of the Company.

Oliver Baring, Non-Executive Chairman of Mwana, commented today:

"On behalf of the Board of Mwana, I am delighted to welcome Mr. Ning and we look forward to working closely with him as the Company continues to operate and develop mines in southern Africa."
