Bumi plc ("Bumi" or the "Company")

Separation Transaction Update

On 9 September 2013 the Company announced that, amongst other things, discussions were on-going regarding certain outstanding items relating to the separation of the Company from the Bakrie Group and PT Bumi Resources Tbk (the "Separation") that remained outstanding and that are outside of the Company's control.

The Company continues to work towards bringing the Separation to fruition on the financial terms previously announced on 18 July 2013. In this connection it has agreed to modify certain of the conditions to, and timing of, the closing of the Separation in order to facilitate the resolution of certain outstanding items as a result of which it is anticipated that the Bumi shareholder circular will be published in October 2013 and that completion of the Separation will occur by the end of November 2013.

Negotiations regarding these outstanding items are continuing and a further update will be provided to shareholders as and when appropriate.
