Connemara Mining Company plc09 April 2008 9th April 2008 Connemara Mining Company Plc Exploration Update on Lough Sheelin Zinc Lead Prospect Highlights: • Positive initial results extend drilling programme from 5 to 11 holes • Low to medium grade mineralisation observed in most holes • Results of two holes received to date show grades of 4.35% Zinc and 2.32% Lead over 0.45m in one hole and 1.15m of 6.4% Zinc and 0.99% Lead in the other • Grades improving through programme - moving closer to source of mineralisation The Directors of Connemara (AIM:CONN) are pleased to update shareholders ontheir Lough Sheelin exploration activities. Connemara has completed an 11-holewidely spaced drilling programme at Lough Sheelin in Cavan. The programme was originally intended to be 5 holes but positive indicationsextended the drilling. To date results have been obtained for two holes, fiveare in the laboratory and two are in sample preparation, one hole missed thetarget and one hole was barren. Hole C-3925-1 has an interval of 4.35% Zinc and2.32% Lead over 0.45m. Hole C-3925-5 has low to medium grade Zinc/Leadmineralisation over 5 metres including 1.15 metres of 6.4 % Zinc and 0.99% Lead. As the drilling proceeded the mineralisation improved. The last three holes, yetto be analysed, appear to contain significant grade and thickness ofmineralisation. The style of mineralisation intersected is a combination of disseminated andfracture fill sphalerite and galena. The grade and style of mineralisation arewhat would be expected to be encountered within an area contiguous to a deposit. The Lough Sheelin property consists of five contiguous prospecting licencescovering an area of approximately 170.76 km2 of Counties Meath and Cavan innorth-central Ireland. The block is located approximately 25km west of thec.100Mt Navan Deposit, which is currently owned and operated by New Boliden-TaraMines Ltd. The geology of the Lough Sheelin area is strongly analogous to Navan,with the target horizons consisting of a cyclical sequence of limestones, shaleand sandstone. The Connemara Lough Sheelin block is situated at the intersectionpoint of two major structural trends (the Longford-Down and theTynagh-Ballinalack Trends), which is considered to be highly prospective. John Teeling, Chairman, commented; "We are very excited with our drilling at Lough Sheelin. Historic data led us toexpect to encounter Zinc, but we are pleased with the extent and type ofmineralisation. The original 5-hole programme was repeatedly extended to followthe discovery. The good news in this story is that the mineralisation is open and we have notyet discovered the source - although we appear to be moving closer to it. Thelesson from the discovery of the SWEX (Southwest Extension) Zone at the Navanmine, some 20km away is that low grade pervasive halos can be important and mustbe followed along to the feeder systems.
