BoardΒ AppointmentΒ
New Non-Executive Director
The Board of Arena Leisure Plc ("Arena" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment ofΒ Andrew PageΒ asΒ aΒ Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1 December 2008Β and, with effect from 1Β January 2009,Β Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Coinciding with this new appointment,Β Martin McGannΒ willΒ retire from his position as Non-Executive DirectorΒ and Chairman of the Audit CommitteeΒ at Arena, with effect from 31Β DecemberΒ 2008.
Andrew,Β 50,Β is Chief Executive Officer of The Restaurant Group plcΒ ("TRG"), a listed company operating aroundΒ 350Β restaurants and pub restaurants,Β primarilyΒ in leisure locations and airports,Β in the United Kingdom.Β Β TRG's principal brands areΒ Frankie & Benny's, Chiquito, Blubeckers, Brunning & Price, TRG Concessions and Garfunkel's.Β Β Andrew previously served asΒ TRG'sΒ Finance Director.
Prior to joiningΒ The Restaurant Group, AndrewΒ held a number of senior positions in the leisure and hospitality sector including Senior Vice President of InterContinental HotelsΒ Group and Group Finance Director of Hanover International plc.Β Β Prior to that, he spent six years with Kleinwort Benson's Corporate Finance Department, having trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.
