Amino Shows the Way for HDTV Via DSL at Telco TV Conference

Amino, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, today announcedits participation at the TelcoTV 2007 Conference & Expo in Atlanta,GA. At booth # 437, Amino will demonstrate its next-generationaward-winning AmiNET series of IP Set-Top Boxes (STBs) including theAmiNET125, which enables service operators to offer advanced InternetTV services, and the HD capable AmiNET130 and AmiNET530. £ In addition to a prominent presence on the exhibition floor, Aminois also participating in an educational session geared towards telcosseeking more information about delivery methods for HD services.Dominique Le Foll, Vice President of Engineering for Amino, will speakabout the feasibility of HD over DSL, exploring various options andstrategies to deploy HD services in this technology landscape. Thesession will be held at the main TelcoTV conference - Technology Trackon Wednesday, October 24th at 2pm. £ Attendees can stop by the Amino booth # 437 to learn more aboutthe company's offerings and see first hand on display the AmiNET125,winner of the prestigious CSI Product of the Year 2007 Award for "BestIPTV Technology" at the IBC event last month. £ The AmiNET125 is a second generation multi-codec STB for IPTV,Video on Demand and Internet TV applications enabling two different TVdelivery methods: £ Telco TV - IPTV and Video on Demand applications are hosted on aflexible, reliable platform, allowing for the development of newservices with the potential to increase subscriber revenue. TheAmiNET125 enables additional services such as video conferencing,gaming and VoIP, and its adaptive DSP-based codec allows for theaddition of future streaming formats. The AmiNET125 was the first STBto integrate the AVS codec for the Chinese IPTV market. £ Internet TV - The AmiNET125 brings Internet TV from the PC to TVusing Windows Media 9 and the Opera Internet browser. This opens up aworld of niche or 'long tail' content. The STB plays streams directlyfrom standard Window Media servers and supports an expanding range offeatures including WMDRM 10 and Orb Networks' MyCast software (theworld's first integration of the Orb technology in an IP STB). £ In addition to the AmiNET125, Amino will be demonstrating its HDand HD PVR products: £ High-Definition IPTV - This demonstration will show the qualityand professionalism of HD graphics and gaming, using the MPEG-2/4AmiNET130 STB. Operators can increase revenue by offering thisenhanced viewing experience, which features a greater number ofinteractive and multicast channels and offers more opportunities foradvertising and more Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data. TheAmiNET130 is the world's first IP STB capable of displaying HDgraphics for HD gaming, following an integration with interactivegames developer Accedo Broadband. £ HD Personal Video Recorder (PVR) IPTV - The PVR capability alongwith other advanced IPTV functionalities, such as pause-live-TV andpushed content models, will allow operators to increase their customerbase whilst reducing churn. This will be displayed using the newMPEG-2/4 AmiNET530 STB.
