Mr Haslam (60) was Chief Executive of Lonmin Plc until his retirement last year.His current directorships include Aquarius Platinum Ltd. Mr Haslam's distinguished mining record culminated in his tenure as ChiefExecutive Officer of Lonmin Plc from 1999-2004. Mr Haslam qualified as ametallurgist working for the British Steel Corporation before joining Canadiannickel miner Falconbrige Nickel Mines in 1978. There he worked in variousinternational marketing positions before being appointed by Falconbridge toWestern Platinum Ltd as Marketing Director. In 1997, Mr Haslam was appointedManaging Director of Lonplats and subsequently appointed to the Lonmin Plc Boardin 1999. Mr Haslam is a fluent French speaker and a Fellow of the Institute ofDirectors and of the Chartered Institute of Management.
