Publication of Supplementary Prospectus in relation to Admission

Further to its announcement on 24 August2010 in relation to the publication of the prospectus in connection with the proposed application for admission to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority (the "UKLA") and to trading on the main market for listed securities of the London Stock Exchange plc of new ordinary shares in the capital of Afren plc (the "Company"), to be issued and credited as fully paid to the shareholders of Black Marlin Energy Holdings Ltd (the "Admission"), the Company announces that a supplementary prospectus (the "Supplementary Prospectus") containing Afren's 2010 Half-yearly Results was approved by the UKLA earlier today. A copy of the Supplementary Prospectus dated 2 September 2010 has been submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will shortly be available for inspection at www.hemscott.com/nsm.do.

The Supplementary Prospectus will also shortly be available for viewing on the Company's website at www.afren.com.
