Aminex PLC ("Aminex" or the "Company") regrets to announce that Mr. Antonio Prado, head of its operations in the USA, has been obliged to step down from its board of directors due to health reasons. He will continue to manage the Company's producing assets at Shoats Creek and Alta Loma. Two of the Company's assets in the US portfolio of properties have already been sold, in line with the Company's strategy of refocusing on Africa.
Tony Prado initially worked for Aminex's predecessor company in the late 1980s as a consultant and became full-time manager of its US operations in the early 1990s. He was appointed to the Aminex board in 1996.
Aminex chairman Brian Hall commented:
"We would all like to thank Tony Prado for his dedication to Aminex over many years. He has been a close colleague and a stalwart member of our Board whose counsel and unerring support will be deeply missed. We wish him a full and speedy recovery."
