Astar Minerals plc announces that Lynda Chase-Gardener has informed the Company of her intention to step down from her roles as Company Secretary and Non-executive Director at the next Annual General Meeting. The Board is in advanced discussions with regards to the appointment of two new non-executive directors, each of whom has direct experience of operating in Mexico's oil and gas industry. This is in line with Astar's strategy to explore investment opportunities in Mexico's energy sector, which is being reopened to private companies to attract greater foreign investment and expertise with which to develop its substantial hydrocarbon reserves. Further updates on these appointments will be provided in due course.
