36% increase in Winter Orange CropΒ
Asian Citrus, the largest orange plantation owner and operator in China, announces that the total Winter Orange crop yield of the Group's two plantations was approximately 80,807 tonnes, representing an increase of around 36% from the Group's total Winter Orange crop yield in 2007.
The Winter Orange crop from its Hepu Plantation increased from approximately 49,162 tonnes last year to approximately 53,142 tonnes in the current year, representing an increase of approximately 8%, which is in line with management's expectations for winter production.
In addition, the Winter Orange crop from the Group's Xinfeng Plantation increased from approximately 10,119 tonnesΒ last yearΒ toΒ approximatelyΒ 27,665 tonnes in the current year, representing an increase ofΒ approximatelyΒ 173%,Β which isΒ alsoΒ in line with management's expectations for winter production.Β
In the full year to 30 June 2008, sales of Winter Oranges produced 34.0% of total revenues,Β with Summer Oranges accounting for the balance.
