NO INTENTION TO MAKE AN OFFER FOR ACACIA MINING PLC ("ACACIA")

Sibanye (JSE: SGL & NYSE: SBGL) notes the recent press regarding a potential transaction involving Acacia. Sibanye confirms that it was considering a possible offer for Acacia, but confirms it is no longer actively considering an offer.
As a result, Sibanye and any person acting in concert with it will, except with the consent of the Takeover Panel, be bound by the restrictions contained in Rule 2.8 of the Code. However, Sibanye reserves the right to make an offer in the circumstances set out in Note 2 on Rule 2.8 of the Code.
