CLOSE BROTHERS VENTURE CAPITAL TRUST PLC
TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES, VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL
Close Brothers Venture Capital Trust PLC announces that it has, today, purchased 99,838 Ordinary shares at a price of 62.5 pence per share. This represents 0.28% of the total number of voting rights in the Company before the transaction. These shares will be held in treasury.
Following this transaction and in conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6 we would like to notify the market of the following:
Close Brothers Venture Capital Trust PLC's capital as at 30 January 2009 consists of 36,003,835 Ordinary shares with a nominal value of 50p each. Close Brothers Venture Capital Trust PLC holds 902,407 shares in Treasury.
Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Close Brothers Venture Capital Trust PLC is 35,101,428.
The figure of 35,101,428 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or change to their interest in, Close Brothers Venture Capital Trust PLC under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
