Embarrassing, Unbelievable4 Feb 2022 10:21
Morning Paul,
Not only embarrassing? More like unbelievable.
RR is leading the SMR Consortium, Qatar investing/backing the SMR Consortium, Lightbridge Corporations Vice President Dr. Aaron Totemeier has been appointed to the Small Modular Reactors (SMR) Working Group of the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration (ITA) effective immediately to participate in targeted briefings on relevant U.S. and European government activities and policies and will be provided information on export opportunities for prospective SMR markets in Europe, which, connecting the dots, means the involving the RR Consortium.
Lightbridge fuel rod technology will revolutionizes operation of existing reactors as well as SMR reactors, including micro reactors such as Radiant .
California company Radiant, formed by former Elon Musk Spacex engineers, has secured funding to develop a compact, portable, "low-cost" one-megawatt nuclear micro-reactor that fits in a shipping container, powers about 1,000 homes and uses a helium coolant instead of water.
Note in the Lightbridge Press release, appointment effective immediately and from a very brief enquiry I made with Lightbridge, they 'are aware' of the RR led Consortium.
Note also, Radiant has acquired funding.
RESTON, Va., Jan. 04, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lightbridge Corporation (Nasdaq: LTBR), an advanced nuclear fuel technology company, is pleased to announce that Lightbridge Vice President of Fuel Cycle Technology and Fuel Fabrication Dr. Aaron Totemeier has been appointed to the Small Modular Reactors (SMR) Working Group of the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration (ITA) effective immediately. As a member of the SMR Working Group, Dr. Totemeier participates in targeted briefings on relevant U.S. and European government activities and policies and will be provided information on export opportunities for prospective SMR markets in Europe.
Also, California company Radiant has secured funding to develop a compact, portable, "low-cost" one-megawatt nuclear micro-reactor that fits in a shipping container, powers about 1,000 homes and uses a helium coolant instead of water.
All of the above will feed through to the RR Consortium. Global exports of SMR's and micro reactors becomes a possibility as the fuel rods are safer to operate at 1000 degrees less than existing reactors, no more Chernobyl's or Fukushima disasters and the fuel rods cannot be weaponised.
With the current crisis in energy costs, the current lack of interest in RR is not just embarrassing, it is unbelievable.
