RE: Reperforation5 May 2019 13:58
MaltLoaf, I am not an expert on this. However, previously they perforated from 960 metres down to 1155 metres, a length of 195 metres.
Now they re-perforated from 988 metres to 1044 meters a length of 56 metres.
They didn't really explain why they reperforated from 988 to 1044m MD, what they said in the RNS is "in order to establish the best possible communication with the fracture system present in the Kimmeridge Clay Formation". Maybe, and this is just a guess, the previous perforation was not successful at this section.
The pay zone could be a lot bigger than the 56 reperforated metres plus the 28 metres previously perforated on the top of that. The plug could have been set anywhere down to the 1155 metres depth. Alan was expecting the plug to be set at the bottom of the well.
