RealitBites……do you seriously believe Petrofac would issue that formal statement at the CONCLUSION of a four and a half year long investigation, that has now ended with an agreed penalty? All done before a judge in the high court?

Sorry that you've thrown in the towel, RealitBites. Does the fact that Petrofac have stated in their RNS " This concludes the SFO's investigations into the company" not reassure you?

Paddyboy1, I can assure you there is no panic on my part. As I kept repeating yesterday, the case is concluded. End of. But less informed potential or current investors may not have the time to think about it, or make enquiries. And I think it is a serious matter if the SFO have put inaccurate or misleading information on their case update. It should be officially corrected by both parties as far as I am concerned. Wrong information given on a SFO court case.......come on!

I have emailed investor relations at Petrofac asking for clarification of the contradictory closing statements by the SFO and PFC. It shouldn't be left to speculation to provide clarity.

UPDATE: Petrofac said this in their official RNS yesterday:- " This concludes the Serious Fraud Office's investigation into the company". Nice try Snapper10, but I feel you have misconstrued the meaning of the SFO's words about continuing their investigation.

Walttortoise.......yes, and that includes a certain 'investigating government department'. A 'saving face' strategy going on out there I feel, even to the point of suggesting that investigations are ongoing. Embarrassing for a government department.

If a case has been to court, a verdict reached, and a sentence issued, that is the conclusion of the case. If there was a need to further investigate either Lufkin or PFC, then those conclusions, judgements, and penalties would not have happened. The case is over, done, finished. Of course, other previous employees maybe further investigated. But that is now irrelevant to either Lufkin or PFC. IT’s time to move on, and relish yesterday’s conclusion and end of case.

Although part of the remuneration arrangement, it was nice to see the director buys. An RNS delivered with a smile attached, perfect timing. And if Lufkin has only got a non custodial sentence, that is another piece of remarkable news. What a day!
I feel there is background accumulation going on with the shares, as things are being very controlled by the powers that be.

How can there be a verdict and sentencing news when the case isn't even listed for the day yet?
