I agree with all of your points but rescinding exploration bans doesn't work and it certainly hasn't worked in NZ. Since Jacinda and the Greens put the ban in place everyone except OMV have abandoned ship and won't be back. OMV will also jump ship before long as the Maui and Pohokura fields near depletion. The Nationals who came into power overturned the ban but the majors won't start any new exploration as they know that as soon as the government changes the ban will be reintroduced. New Zealand is fast running out of natural gas and a large portion of reserves have been reclassified as contintengent reserves due to the current economic climate and constant change in politics (all caused by Labour and the Greens coalition) NZ has recently downgraded recoverable reserves by 27% just in the past year and is fast running out of natural gas due to 7 years of doing nothing and NZ is becoming one of most unaffordable countries in the world to live. Such a shame, as it is a beautiful country populated by misinformed tree huggers

We have the same issue here in Oz . The labour government and greens stifling oil & gas industry while the country exports most of what it is already producing - Not long before there is a huge shortage and big price hikes. We have the Bedout basin off WA which is very similar to NFB in a lot of ways and a proven oil discovery within that basin called Dorado (similar in size to sealion). The major partner Santos has delayed FID a number of times since the discovery on 2018 and an announcement today that Adnoc are pulling out of buying Santos will no doubt result in another delay to FID. I am mighty glad that my Rockhopper shares will ensure that I am not relying on Dorado coming to fruition

I have just been advised that I can't vote or participate in the eventual open offer as I now live overseas (who can blame me!) and my shares are now held by a custodian since transferring them to my Aussie broker. I would imagine that there are many in the same boat, so that should leave more for those of you still residing in the UK

Mirasol - I did say it was from left field and I know about the Italian way as I work for an Italian company . Red tape and bureaucracy at every turn 🫤 but there is always the chance that their lawyers will advise that we have a good chance of success, and they could avoid added interest payments and make a quick deal. Not likely , I know, but not impossible either.

Maybe ROI coming to the table with a settlement offer to avoid further arbitration? - left field, I know but wouldn't that be a great outcome!
