Year. Admissions. Per year.(9311 screens). Per day(365) 2018. 272.6m. 29277 per screen. 80.21 ( unknown shows per day) 2019. 289.4m. 31081 per screen. 85.15. (Ditto) 2020. 56.44m. 6061 per screen. 16.00. (Ditto) I'm not sure how many days we were actually open during 2020, but the figure of 16 should be higher than above. So when you go to the cinema and count people it might be good to take these figs into account. I hope this helps. This is how my mind operates rather than thinking of custard creams and bourbons. I may as well as admit I have never been to a Cineworld as the nearest to me is Nottingham or Hull. There is a very pleasant Art Deco style(updated inside) cinema about a mile away which does a super job for everyone in town. Hope this helps those who are having trouble getting their heads around attendance. Holding 14k
I have used the actual accounts figures (2018)and percentages from those figs carried across to make the above. The only issue I see is that we will end up with a part of 2020 as reported in April/May(as above). Then this year another 6 month year figures. It won't be till April May 2023 that we hopefully get a full year. As things are in the world of cinema, studios, streamers anything can happen by then. I'm using the above figures to guesstimate where we might be as far as turnover is on a full month basis. The level of interest payments mean we definitely need a full uninterrupted year to pay the debts down. Anyway I thought some here might be interested. Yes I am a holder with now all in 14,000 shares.GLA
RE: Should be a Good week next week22 May 2021 22:19
I love the smell of rabbits. The film does offer an alternative to peanuts as there seems to have been a shortage at cineworld. Rabbit droppings on the seats of previous viewings are now available in the foyer. Salted or unsalted. 1% a week would be fine with me. Unfortunately I have to start at 1.02.
I was dreading reading Ashstash's comments, so now he's been sent to the sin bin. I know the company has huge debts etc. Does anyone know how much cash we can get through the tills on a weekly basis for the various % of capacity we might expect. Love cineworld and also love making a profit on investments.
I'm one step from Tom C if you need a comment on cinema. Although you can imagine his reply. He loves film making and therefore cinema in general I would say. My nephew has been working next to him for years now. I have a shed load of old Cine shares at 1.02 average and would be happy anywhere over 1.25 by July. This message might self destruct in 5 seconds.
For those who cannot just buy in £1000 plus lots. I have found Etoro to be a great alternative. I too have some Cine at 123p $50 worth the difference being I buy as it falls. Every few pence down I buy more, so with 84 purchases of about $100 each my average is 104. Not bad as started with the 123 buy. Yes the costs are in the spread, but he'll im making money on a percentage basis. I'm just using the ET platform as a way of not having to buy such one price chunks. I already have 1 million real shares in a small pharma that's ready for take off. I really like Cine and will buy for a long time to come it is a certainty to come back to its best. Don't tell anyone, but you can short as well. I don't like that as you never actually own any shares. Happy times to all here even the old miseries. DYOR
Many years ago I was an enthusiastic follower of a certain David Lenigas with his stakes in many aim companies. I invested in LGO via their Spanish and Trinidad projects. All was good until the broken drill bit and the losses started big time. I got out of that with about half my investment and put some into UKOG only to sell out when the price hit 4 pence. Wow that was lucky because it's only gone down since. I also watched other stocks with a DL name attached i.e. Octagonal and others. I learnt that he is in the background as a shareholder via nominee accounts. Look what happened to Octagonal (taken private by delisting)this may go the same way probably just before oil is actual found. This business is run solely to fill the pockets of those in the background. Beware of those with apartments in Monaco ( wonder who that is). All I can say is life is better away from aim shares. I've been fully loaded in Microfocus and Cineworld. Happy days and many more to come. I've been where you are and it won't happen again.
To see how dangerous these purveyors of untruths are one just needs to watch the US news. Please stop talking to them and they will go away. Otherwise they will come around and invade your house. Still holding 1.1m collectively here.
