To be fair they did say currency de valuations could be a problem, which has proved true
But yesvway off saying to buy at £1.72.
Alex, who can fa in fathom. I have s4 shares. Dropped from £2.30 to £1.10 in single day on results. Results seemed fine.
You can imagine how that felt. Anyhow now back to £1.80,s in a few months. Go figure.
Just returned from Basel a couple of weeks ago. Before went out noticed that the return flight was £296.
I paid £26 when I paid originally two years earlier pre-covid.
My point is, that they were charging £296 so I expected flight to be full. It was 1/2 to 2/3 full. Explain that.
It looks as if even shares that have had decent results are getting thumped, even if an initial rise. I think in this market it will be difficult for sp to rise although you may have temporary fleeting rises before fall backs.
So if results OK you may have short rise before dropping back, but if not good then wallop.
US futures shot up FT followed. Inflation hopefully dropped. Is so it says probably due to 53 reductions in fuel in 4 weeks to below $4 dollars a gallon. Unlike rip off Britain with one reduction and a price of roughly $9.50 a gallon
1msn, one example from a few years back.
I was going to buy"Bodycote" at £1.30 but did not because broker reduced estimate to 80p. It promptly made its way to well over £10 without much pause for breath. Of course the brokers followed it up in arrears continually raising their estimates.
1msn, there have been numerous occasions. The market will determine long before the brokers will. That is why brokers such as peel hunt were saying £1250 ONLY A FEW MONTHS BACK whist the market was saying £2 during this time. They are always in arrears. Follow the market not the brokers.
1msn where is the logic that because the brokers have reduced to 1.70 must mean it goes below £1. It could just as easily mean it is a more reasonable target at this time and could go up. Let's face it brokers are about as good at being right as we are. It could just as easily go the other way in a few months time. The brokers are always lagging behind the reality. Posh boys who failed their maths exams.
