Rainbow Rare Earths Phalaborwa project shaping up to be one of the lowest cost producers globally. Watch the video here.
I’m on the side of the shareholders here so whatever outcome benefits the share price counts for me. Hopefully BT and the staff can come up with an agreement which benefits us all.
One thing I will say though, is that Philip handed the CWU some propaganda on a plate by taking his benefits recently with the CWU gearing up for a ruck. Could he have waited until the industrial unrest had died down a bit to take his cut?
Look like the CWU doesn’t want anyone to lose more than 2 days pay per month. I wonder if 2 days per month is going to make enough difference to make BT crack. An all out strike would probably end it one way or another after a couple of weeks.
It's obvious to me. She sold these shares to fund her and her partners ISA's. Hopefully buying CLX shares!!!
If this were to be true then there cannot be any good or bad news in the immediate future however.
Only joking really...
'Just bought some more. Will top up on any weakness in the share price.'
Well done.
Nice rise.... As the Actress said to the Bishop!!
"Lucky you!! You do realize the final salary pension was scrapped for new people over 20 years ago and the new one is rubbish"
I wouldn't describe the current BT pension as rubbish. As an employee if I was putting in 8% BT and BT was putting in 11% so that's 19% of salary in my pension with NO TAX or NI. That's equivalent to almost 25% of my base salary going into my pension year after year. As you get older and have some spare cash you can salary sacrifice up to the HMRC limit so no need to be in poverty by the time you retire. Many of my colleagues chose to spend their money rather than invest it in their future. That was entirely their choice and everyone in BT has that choice to make.
Plenty of droning on here. Here's another story.

'The original offer was £1200, but BT raised it to £1500'
What's more is the £1,500 could be worth more than £1,800 each year it was put into their BT pension. Plus, BT would match some of that so it's worth even more. Very reasonable I would say.
Wouldn’t be surprised but I expect going back towards all time highs with another excellent update from the chief. I can’t see orders and interest dropping off due to the current economic climate. Unless chip shortages cause problems I can see this being as good a place to invest as any.
I was intending to be away for 30 days but I saw this from the CWU and just had to laugh. They do sound desperate.
'"While BT Group created even better profits than was expected, many workers who made that profit rely on food banks and don't know how they will pay their bills.'
I reckon you could count the number of BT employees that rely on food banks on one hand. CWU sounds deluded..
Rivaldo. What do you think of the high PE? Does it worry you much?
Somewhat encouraging last comment.
‘’ Kwarteng now has 30 working days to carry out his assessment of Drahi's BT stake.
‘It seems reasonable to conclude that the government thinks Altice/BT raises relevant national security issues," Jefferies analysts said, adding they expected BT and Altice UK would have to provide large amounts of documentation to the government.
They noted the market was not counting on an Altice UK takeover to support BT's share price at current levels.
‘Something's triggered this, and it could be something outside of the public domain.‘
I suspect HMG have got wind of discussions between Altice and DT. DT did say quite a while ago that something would happen with their stake in the near future. Kingmaker and all that….
