In line with guidance. Cash flow bar chart was a nice touch. Clearly shows the positive progress being made. Inventory reduction ahead of track and net debt reducing. Three of the most important things I was looking for tbh. Steady progress and base in which to build growth from. I’d say Barker was much closer to being correct than the shorts. The sp was pricing in failure and it is evident this is not the case. The business now has to evidence the full turnaround by demonstrating increased profitability in 2025 and then we will move north fairly quickly imo. Pleased with the update all things considered.
A tenner by Christmas Tom. I don’t rely on charts..SJ tells me what he sees in his crystal ball. We know it will be one Christmas, just not which one! £15 is my target and I’m hoping that will follow soon after :)
I’d say if you are only 10% below your buy in price you are doing better than most. Sounds like you are only here for a short term punt. Good luck if you are, I’m sure you’ll get an opportunity to bail with profit in the not too distant future. I’m holding for much higher gains which I am confident of if we can come out of the current downturn a leaner and more profitable business.
Mike, I don’t think anyone here is deluded. ASOS doesn’t need to return to its heyday for us to see multiples of today’s sp. Whilst some are here for short term gains like you, many are also here for longer term gains like me. Call it deluded but I’d argue it’s naive to think that in the medium to longer term £10-£20 isn’t achievable.
With the links we just posted between us about Nordstrom and that last article you shared mentioning Frasers, you can’t help but think that it’s only a matter of time before there’s significant corporate action. A takeover is looking more and more likely the longer this macro picture and weak consumer situation continues. Fingers crossed Paulley. I’ll take a decent takeover or am even more happy to wait for a turn around in the company’s fortunes to see a sp in double digits.
Agreed Paulley. I know which side of the fence I’m on. The forward guidance was such a wide net I can’t see us falling through it. It’s what they comment on the outlook which I think is going to have the most impact.
Not what we’d all want to see but as they say in The Soprano’s.. “what ya gonna do!?
I’m looking forward to the 26th whatever the outcome now. At least the wait will be over to hear how we are getting on. Just a shame that we aren’t sitting at circa £4 like we were around 3 weeks ago. Would have a felt a lot more comfortable should there be a sp decline than from the current levels. Fingers crossed we’ve reduced inventory and there are greenshoots.
There’s sufficient capital at present. Can’t see it being necessary at the moment unless things have deteriorated significantly more. Also I’d be surprised if that was the case given Barker’s recent purchase on the open market. He would have done his due diligence and would have waited for such a raise if he thought one was likely. He’ll be much more aware of the current situation with the company’s fortunes than any of us. AIMHO.
I think it’s because the market are pricing in more negative news and the turnaround not showing enough green shoots. Hopefully they are wrong. Only when we return to proper growth and profitability will we start to move up again. Hopefully then we’ll see the large rises that we’ve witnessed when this has risen from the ashes in the past.
Definitely 100notout. Thankfully we have very large institutional holders. If not I think we’d have had a low ball offer from an outside party by now. With the majority of funds in the hands of billionaires, we can’t be picked off so easily. It either means a high external takeover offer (if one is to be accepted) or one comes from within. Preferably the business is turned around and we grow again and get back to a decent valuation :)

Great post. The desperados posting umpteen times a day and all when they only have a fun punt here. I wonder why….
