to get rid of food odours... light some candles.
Joss sticks may help a bit but the idea isn't to overlay one smell with another smell (the only effect that doing that has on me is that I continue to smell both smells), the idea to burn those volatile organic molecules in the air, most of which will decompose on touching flame. Burning candles spread around the house for a few hours should do the trick.
If they did shut down for a day (I know they won't), would it matter, would you begrudge them that?
Would we be a day older or younger because of it?
Chill !
... and a festive mince pie and a slug of your favourite tipple to all.
Yep, this board can get fractious at times, but it's still by far the most informative discussion board for anything to do with Hurricane Energy. For that, as the Xmas break rapidly approaches and we all go our separate ways to do whatever we do when we're not here, I thank you ALL and a merry Xmas.
What do you mean you'll all be here all over Xmas?
Take a break! If MPs can... !!
This legal Charge document has just been registered at companies house.

I wouldn't worry about the sp until long after the first half hour, the early shenanigans means nothing,
look at yesterday, it spiked the other way at first and ended up down.
They're probably aiming for the weather window starting next weekend, so as Dr T said, Christmas Day might even be on the cards for the hookup.

"But try turning Banckok electric! It's almost-permanent gridlock there already, but make all the Tuk-Tuk's electric and it would come to a complete standstill. Because it takes two minutes to fill a Tuk Tuk's tank with petrol, whereas the charging time would be...?"
The same as the discharge time. You just have two or three removable batteries for each Tuk-Tuk, with two on charge and one in use. When one runs out you go back to base and swap the batteries, or if you're clever you leave one on charge at base and carry.a spare charged battery on board. Pas de probleme.
I'd say that the kingfisher report date ranges tend to be bigger than the axtual date ranges so they can ensure safety if the plan slips. They reported (from a month ago) of an earliest sail date of Saturday tomorrow.
Amaja's date is likely to be more reliable, given that it was sourced this week, and from an unconnected party.
But it might not be exact, as the port could have been given a range of dates, and Wednesday could just be the last date that the berth is booked for the AM, that doesn't mean the AM might not sail before, or after.
(just because you've booked a berth, doesn't mean you have to stay in it, or can't stay a little longer)
So I think the AM is likely to sail between Saturday and Wednesday, but you never know, it might be after.
:-)
The "Hebo Lift 2" crane's track suggests they've just pulled the moon pool plate sideways to recoer it from from under the AM's turret. The flare stack was fitted earlier in the week, so looks like it's going to plan for a possible departure tomorrow.
There's not going to be a wall of worry generated before FOIL with this share, LTHs here have seen it all before.
I sleep well at nights and I'm going to have a relaxing Christmas, the excitement will come in the New Year.
I'm so looking forward to the NEXT RNS.
yea!
I remember spending weeks (months probably) as a kid building an Airfix Lancaster. It looked brilliant. :-)
Then I painted it and the scale equivalent of a 53 inch thick layer of paint somewhat spoiled the look. :-(
Happy days.
daltry, "Nothing is going to happen before FOIL. Just find another way to kill the time gap."
some may have noticed I've also had enough of the bun-fights.
Yes, I've had strong opinions with some of the recent posts, but there's no need for bad sentiment on the board.
OT:
Something very important is happening to our country, FOIL can (and will) wait for a month or two, we've said all there is to say about what we know of the Lancaster project, now we just have to wait, but getting argumentative because there's nothing else to do isn't the way forward.
Over the next week, I'm making sure that I understand all the facts and arguments about where this country is heading, because this one big political issue is going to affect us all far more than whether the AM stays 3 days or 6 in Rotterdam.

As soon as someone starts talking about P/E ratios for O&G and mining companies that are still in the exploration phase, you know they don't have a scooby-do about exploration companies...
In a previous life I used to call that sort of thing bovine excreta.
I reckon the BoD will say that the shop is closed while we prove up the reservoir... Come back for the summer sale.
Can I start by asking to keep this thread ON TOPIC. The B word will come up, but it is strictly in relation to Hurricane and it's subcontractors; General political views and loyalties are not being asked for, which is why I've given it the subject heading I have.
My questions are:
How will the proposed changes in the UK's relationship with the EU affect staff, logistics, taxation, or any other business factor positively or adversely?
Have Hurricane and it's major subcontractors made risk assessments and plans for the changes being proposed by Brexit?
How much more or less will Brexit cost the company in capital and/or operational costs?
Will Hurricane Energy (and it's subcontractors), inform shareholders how Brexit will affect their business?
I believe that ALL companies should now be informing their shareholders of the impacts of Brexit, given that there must be economic impacts whether internal or external, and that we are now just weeks away from the new business environment.
I'll hasten to add that may not be how the AM will do it, but how another FPSO's hookup process was explained to me.
"Autonomously" - as AK says, it means the AM doesn't need assistance from another vessel.help.
My understanding is that there will be a small marker buoy on the surface secured to the main buoy which is submerged.
In preparation, they need a line over the side of the AM fed back into the turret.
(That could be done with an ROV, but could be simply done on approach by dropping a line with a parachute on the end down through the moonpool, the parachute catches the wake and pulls the line, a float on the line then makes it surface outside the ship from where it can be fished out and pulled up over the side.)
When they get in position, they fish the marker buoy out and connect it to the line over the side of the ship. Then from the moonpool they pull the marker buoy down and up into the turret. The marker buoy is connected to a line/cable/chain for the turret winch to pull the main buoy up into the turret.
