The total investment on the first phase is in the region of USD 25 million. The project will consume 120,000 metric tons of chrome ore and 24,000 metric tons of coke per year. Most of the raw materials for the processing of ferrochrome including chrome and coke are readily available in Zimbabwe. This initial phase of the project will employ about 400 local people. The total turnover of the first phase will be USD 100 million per year. During the second phase a total of USD100 million capital will be injected to build four more bigger furnaces(4 x25MVA) with a resultant high carbon ferrochrome output of 200 000 tonnes per annum and a labor force exceeding 1 000 local people.
