RE: POLYGON v's POLAR? Strategy?13 Jan 2022 12:01
All these manufactured conspiracies are just that!
So, Polygon - a hedge fund manager with a reputation of looking for big returns in short timescales, aggressive player.
If AZN (or anyone else) even thought of approaching Polygon to 'front' their purchases what do you think Polygon would do with this titbit of information? Doff cap, say 'thank you, sir' and dutifully perform the fronting function for whatever fee they have negotiated? Or do you think an aggressive hedge fund manager would say 'Luverly Jubbly, this time next month Rodders....' and fill their boots for their own account in the knowledge that a bid is well and truly on the cards?
Seriously folks, if AZN or anyone else was trying to build a position, the last place they would go to would be Polygon! This could ultimately cost them more if Polygon take a position themselves.
Surely they would use a well trusted banker that they had dealt with for many years.
Polygon fronting for a takeover with or without collusion of Polar is really quite hilarious.
