Over on Stockopedia, Mr Contrarian put it best. His summary of the results : “ pinky potion prospects perky” !
This rising tide is floating my boat. The boy Liam's is looking a bit leaky.
Largely I Am Misleading
Lately I Am Mithering . Blathering On and On.Total Horseshush. (Mithering - Northern English = annoying)
Patience rewarded. Have enjoyed the banter on here over the last year or two. Congratulations to all who kept the faith. This is the day we were waiting for. Upwards and onwards. Anyone for a Ten bagger?
.
Well done to all of the long term holders who hung on waiting for an announcement like todays. Sounds like a good licensing deal. Partners would not have come on board if they did not think approvals would be coming soon. Patience will be rewarded.
dactions - I agree. That was the point I was trying to make the other week when CBDERma was mentioned. Yes, you can find some product for sale online but they appear to be a start up and as you say yet to file any accounts. They may have fantastic expertise but, at the moment, from publicly avaialble information, it appears to be one bloke in Bristol.
photographs of Mars whilst we are passing then on to infinity and beyond!!
A lot of debate on Stockopedia/Naked Trader and others today about the impact of the IG policy which is forcing people to close out positions on a lot of stocks. Lots of those stocks down a few per cent. It seems likely in terms of timing that the IG effect might be linked to the sell off yesterday of FUM (?), but it is encouraging to see a strong bounce back today.
Certainly possible. Futura is on the IG list and a number of others on that list have dropped a few per cent today.
I have wondered for a while about what might be happening with the Cannabis products. The last time there was any information on this they stated that the partner for the Cannabis product was CBDerma technology Ltd. DYOR but I was not encouraged when I tried to find out anything about this outfit.
It showed up after the close of play a couple of days ago. Since then the price has gone up significantly so draw your own conclusions.
Most of us will be glad to finally see some momentum and the price breaking out of the range that it has been stuck in for months now. Agree with BE that it is likely to be someone building a position in advance of expected news, but we can't be sure. None of us really know what is in the minds of all of the other traders/investors out there who may choose to buy or sell, and we can only see it from our own perspective.
We have known for some time, though, that an FDA meeting is this month, and news of that must be imminent. The optimism may be misplaced but it is nice to see the optimism being supported with some decent buys. A few sellers to be expected as the price moves up.
'loam is fertile soil. no other meaning on line.' Yes, an excellent growth medium.....
I am fairly new to investing and have been building some small scale positions over the last 15 months. I have seven shares which are showing gains of between 11% and 90% and at the moment Futura is my only loser – current 60% down. However, I am staying positive about this, having looked carefully at the trial data and the available information.
The key thing in any medical trial is whether the thing on trial performs significantly better than placebos. Placebos effects are very interesting and often quite strong. In fact typical placebo effects in trials of many interventions are often in the 30% area. Futura refer to placebo effects in other trials of ED treatments when they say in relation to their their product: “Overall the level of efficacy was broadly equivalent to lower doses of current oral ED treatments and substantially higher than placebo effects typically seen with ED treatments” . If you read the study to which they are referring (Araujo AC et al: The Management of Erectile Dysfunction with Placebo Only: Does it work J Sex Med 6:3440-3448; 2009) you can see that placebo effects in that trial are between 31and 36% in three different groups. This is based on the percentage improvement in erectile dysfunction score on standardised EEIF measure.
The key question then is does MED3000 work better than placebos which have been used in other published trials of ED? Can Futura legitimately claim that their results are 'substantially higher than placebo'? The answer would seem to be yes, since their results showed a 60% improvement , using the same international standard measures. This is comparable to Viagra and other ED treatments and is clearly superior to the 30% which is seen with truly inactive placebo
This does suggest that MED3000 is not a placebo (and should never have been used as one in their trial). At this point I think that the full mechanism of action is still unclear but the results seem real. The question now is, will further trials be required or can they use the published data to show clearly that this thing does indeed outperform true placebo and is safe and well tolerated? Whatever the answer to that question, there seems to be a product with significant potential and it is worth holding out for that.
