Professor David Smythe23 Sep 2018 08:20
I have just been reading his August 2013 assessment of Cuadrilla's proposed sidetrack of Balcombe 2z in which he states that Cuadrilla have got all the seismic data wrong and that it won't be possible to drill a perfect sidetrack through the Micrite because of faulting that Cuadrilla haven't accounted for. Then in October he updated his report he asks "How did Cuadrilla keep the horizontal drilling within the Micrite?"answer "Partly by luck,in that no faults were encountered." No David they kept it within the Micrite by relying on their own data and not listening to you.So we have a beautiful faultless 1,700 sidetrack which we know is already displaying oil movement, the only question to be answered is how much? Don't ever quote Professor David Smythe as a credible source of information again, thinking of me BMD.
