This confirms what i thought all along .
Flybe was owned by a consortium including Virgin Atlantic, which was interested in the airline as a "feeder" into Heathrow and its long-haul flights.
Is it a bit short-sighted of them not to pump more money into the airline?
Paul Charles, former director of Virgin Atlantic, says: "It's simply not viable in this day and age. On a lot of routes actually you can take the train, but on some routes it simply isn't a profitable business to be in... What Loganair is doing is cherry picking the best routes, which does make sense, but I wonder how long it's going to last - I do think some of those 16 won't survive for several months."
