Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
The other operators make sure they get flyers to busy MPs with disruptive propaganda to suit their 'accumulated competitive positions' so expect all operators have been 'briefing'.
The CMA is guided by queens council and precedent. Can look to France or China for similar number market operators.
All the operators sell the same products and compete on service.
I am sure MDV/VOD is targeted on customer satisfaction like 3 et al and customers vote with their feet
All international operators have been interconnecting on agreed standards and protocols for over 40 years including Iran and any despot you care to mention.
If price increases, demand falls relative to the other operators if customers seek lower prices.
Anyway good they are debating. Agreement will also bring reciprocal trade deals in other markets and UK PLC needs them if it wants to stop shrinking imo
Good governance of course.
'The bond refinacing is relatively small in 3024 and is much larger in 2025 ...but by then...bond rates might well be lower than today ...'
I am sure MDV has a clear path to paying FY25 bond of €3.7m and could include rolling over/ using asset sale money.
The cashflow is servicing interest and maintaining net debt/ EBITAal somewhere around 2.5 or 2.7.
€9Bn debt repayable 2030-2040 and €10.5Bn repayable 2040+ is enough time for economies to begin growing and demanding the VOD utility at the very least.
In the short term, energy costs (94% hedged) will unwind in H2 this year.
Looks like handset financing will change to benefit cashflow.
Lots of cost reduction activities whilst service revenue is reported as growing
'There isnt much out there to suggest the Quarter performance for VOD could have drastically changed for the better'
Telcos/VOD track to GDP so either another recession being priced in here 1st or CMA/ OFCOM et al recognise the challenge of ROCE in a high interest rate environment.
Google et al dont work if telco dont work
'What’s the highest ftse 100 recorded div yield'
The tobacco companies did something similar before 50% rise. Of course BAT now writing down legacy. But vod legacy 1g-5g still needed for different products. Surely cant be the Brand as E& want that.
Must be the latest broker worries about fcf and sustainability of continuing businesses. So many vod companies in so many countries, the remaing profitable ones have to be more than 65 sum of the parts. Perhaps this weeks contract expiry is a watershed.
Only other thing is maybe E& are selling as others did after looking under the bonnet.
'We can thank OFCOM for today's fall'
I expect OFCOM have seen the merger market data, consultations etc and are ensuring consumers arent locked in for long periods on any operators network.
Mobile termination rates fell with interest rates over 30 years. Now interest rates are rising, operators are fighting to make a return, I expect mobile termination rates will rise and/ or more consumers get access to something like the benefits of the prepay/ pay as you go/ mvno model.
Gutter, I think so.
'They conclude that another period of high inflation should be used to restructure government finances again.
This is exactly what is likely to happen in the next few years, as macro analyst Nick Giambruno explained.
The tool of choice for governments to access the people's money is government bonds. As an example, Giambruno cites inflation of 9 per cent and an interest rate of 4 per cent. The resulting real interest rate of -5 percent would lead to a continuous transfer of wealth from the lender (buyer of government bonds) to the borrower (government) amounting to 5 percent.
Those who now believe that they would not be affected by such a robbery because they do not hold government bonds are very likely mistaken. Because everyone who has a fixed-interest asset provision or a private pension plan will also be invested in government bonds without knowing it.'
Now you can argue whether derivative, put/ call options on the VOD SP hedging debt is driving the drop but #unt is is the chancellor
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/confiscation-of-private-pension-savings-what-is-the-government-planning/ar-AA1eAN3Q?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=57b2e841ab7d4927963a6961de48425b&ei=9
For me, Hunt has slapped pension freedom pensioners in the face. VOD was £2+ when pension freedoms were introduced. Its 71p now. #unt thinks the asset value destruction is offset in favourable taxation when the VOD net assets are c.£2.39??
He might think he can snake his way through to a 2024 election but he doesnt get my vote. Not for this value destruction. Long run incremental cost boĺl##s. Just let the operators charge higher termination rates to improve their profitability and let the citizen/consumer vote on prices based on cost inflation in their household budgets.
"Why do chatbots try to exhaust posts that draw attention to their motive
ChatGPT
Chatbots might try to exhaust posts that draw attention to their motive for a few reasons:
User Engagement: Chatbots are designed to keep users engaged and interested in the conversation. By elaborating on their motive, they may hope to maintain the user's attention and encourage further interaction.
Transparency: Some chatbots are programmed to be transparent about their intentions to build trust with users. By openly discussing their motive, they aim to establish a more authentic and honest conversation.
Clarification: In some cases, chatbots might want to ensure that users understand their purpose correctly. By reiterating their motive, they can prevent misunderstandings and deliver accurate responses.
Brand Promotion: Chatbots representing a company or brand might highlight their motive to promote products or services. It's a way to raise awareness and potentially generate interest in what they offer.
Programming Logic: Depending on how the chatbot is programmed, it might be designed to emphasize certain aspects of its purpose when specific keywords or phrases are mentioned by the user.
However, it's essential to strike a balance in revealing the motive and providing valuable responses. Overly repetitive or pushy behavior can be off-putting to users and may lead to a negative user experience. The goal for chatbots is to be helpful, informative, and friendly while fulfilling their intended purpose.
