Just waiting on the 'Muricans to get out of bed and we will certainly see. If it does go silly again this afternoon then I'll be fully derisked by this afternoon. Free shares for life after that!
Agreed, this board has been quiet lately, and as outstanding as this news is - any newbies should go back about 4-5 months of posting to get a real grip on how this company is progressing. Theres more to it than Tencent. A lot more.
We already have an audience above 1b per month views wise, much more in fact. See Tubular labs & welcome aboard.
Excellent RNS. Considering how quiet it's been on here recently, this news sure has stirred things up. LTH's are being rewarded!!
Apologies if my post appeared personal, Bonks. It wasn’t intended to be. The take a step back mention was generic. Someone posted the other day about the acolytes, and (myself included) amongst others have been guilty of shouting down any alternative voices in the past. Fast approaching a year now of trading, and in particular of holding MTR as my first independant share following some dabbling in the listed company that I work for. That’s not a lot compared to many of those on here, but I’ve aways appreciated your posts, and the content has assisted greatly in that my 365 days have not resulted in a loss but a gain (albeit a smaller one post last Mondays antics). Perhaps it’s my own naivety but it must really suck thinking that every person on here is a multi ID pro. I’d like to think that most people on here (wishfully perhaps) have one common goal which is to make money and help others on the way, and to an extent i do believe that. Then again, I don’t see the level that you do given that you have analytics from your website to assist, and i’m sure that you see the games more openly than most. It does get me to thinking about the point of this site in all honesty. If we are all DOOR, and the site is so packed with gangs of pro’s working in tandem to play mind games then is there much point in being here? You specifically mentioned retreating for some time yourself and tbh i’m thinking the same for a while. Still believe strongly in mtr. I found the share first, and this board second. Perhaps it’s time to go back to basics for a while. Atb all.
I know a lot of peeps are knocking marineville for ‘deramping’ but i’ve had discussons with him on another bb that i’m active on. I don’t know him, i don’t know if he is an honest PI or a city boy, but his posts are worth an objective read. The level of shouting down on here anything that doesn’t fit the narrative does turn it into an echo chamber at times, and others have pointed this out. On the other hand, Guys like duster are trolls, plain and simple. They want to provoke reaction by poking until somebodys snaps at them and they deserve the kicking. Marineville puts a point across politely and asks questions that rather than respond with the usual shouts of ‘run them out of town’ should be thought about. As we enter a stage where mtr and mod are more closely linked SP wise, i do believe 3’s will return in due course, and perhaps faster than usual. I’m happy to sit and wait despite going from +40% to +10% in a day. Everyone is nursing a loss, some more than others who topped up. Take a step back sometimes and let the SP do it’s thing if you believe in the bigger picture.
Thanks Hugh. All good now, strong like bull! Seeing a blue day helps with the recovery too. Heres to many more to get back to where it was (and beyond!)
Morning All, so - I’ve not been around since the start of the week having been rushed into one of the NHS’s finest northern A&E establishments. A place where they should just sack off the cleaners and throw saw dust on thr floor instead. Managed to sneak a glimpse at my phone at the time and saw the tanking of the SP, but no RNS? Not sure which was worse, having a canular in or seeing MTR take a slap. Caught up on the posts and it’s frustrating i agree. I see the board has descended into chaos too which is understandable for those that topped up through 3p. Fwiw, it’s not like this hasn’t happened before and the recovery was pretty swift. Temporary blip on the back of the bigger picture?
Just thrown 1k in to it as a top up. More to come.
For the LTH it doesn't really make a difference - but I do agree, it is annoying to see it drop on what is essentially the turning point for the company.
Glass half full - this is the top up opportunity I've been waiting on and yet wasn't expecting to see again. Average out time.
Tomorrow morning/afternoon perhaps?
Looks like the A team are turning up! Let us know when B.A is putting his TR1 in too.
I pity the fool who doesn't buy MTR.
or top 8 to be precise - MTR also up there now on the most talked about.
...on making it in to the top 10 recommended posters on the site!
Surely No.1 by Monday morning pending MOD news :-P
Yeah. Throttled by the MM's again so that they can get everyone they need to on board before letting it run..a recurring theme here. Hopefully this will only last until next week.
Excellent find Orange, thanks for sharing - and great spot on the annual report. That's something that I'd not seen previously.
The Digiday article is great - let's hope that it's BB that is the 'one publisher to make $10m', but either way if it's only a few hundred k & given the existing reach and new channels then it is certainly something to improve upon in the future and I'm sure that they have guys working on ad engagement through the already monetised content. Given that it's a beta, it will no doubt give BB the edge when this is rolled out to everyone as they will have had the time and know how to maximise potential.
This should be a v. interesting interim. :)
Yup, should be 31st. Would be nice to see it earlier, but not long to wait now.
On a plus side, I started doing a little research in to Facebook Ad Breaks yesterday following on from a post a month or two ago. Normally, I'd shout someone down for being rampy but geeforce has it spot on, perhaps even conservative on a shout of 5-10p in due course.
Ad breaks is currently being tested on live streams AND normal video by a few select groups. The latest feedback is good with the test audience. I forgot the specifics, but they are now at a phase now where the average watch through rate between a video, ad then back to video is around 70-80%. The money is then split between the publisher and Facebook @55% to the publisher.
Part of this impressive watch through rate is down to moving ads to certain suggested parts of the video for continuity based on an algorithm. Secondly, ads can only kick in after the first minute of video, and videos need to be more than a couple of minutes long to qualify which has massively increased the engagement with the ad.
Given that BB is one of the highest ranked Facebook video publishers, this bodes so well for the future. It may surpass all of our expectations, and then some. Some conservative figures on this;
If BB monetise unique content (say 30% of the total FB views they have per month on videos) then BB earns roughly £600,000 per month x 12 = £7.2million extra p/a pre tax. The beauty of this is that the channels are already there, so is the content, so are more channel launches! This is extra cash for no more outlay, and also IMHO the reason that they don't, or won't make inroads in to YouTube as the same cash for content style is coming to a platform where they are already established as number 1 largest world wide facebook reach and number 2 for June.
So when will this happen? Hard to say. Facebook are still ironing out the details, and then there is the roll out. Still seems early stage at the mo, but it's something to think about for the long termers here.
On this alone, it takes this company from 10m market cap to 60-75m. If the interims are good, and this company has turned the corner as is expected then I'm holding this for the next few years.
Yeah, strange that. A few mates are programmers/graphic designers and they say the same. Creative vs logical brain perhaps?
An obvious photoshop Bonks, jk :-)
Looks like it’s going to be a bad day for Rio Tinto and BHP!
