Thinkers put me right on this. A dividend certainly on AIM shares it is rare, if ever,paid by a company these days. But, in the beginning of shares it was the anticipated dividend which underlined the SP.
Now, it appears, that the sp is set at a notional value of the company, if it did pay a dividend, which most do not. So have shares have become divorced from their true beginnings and we now bet purely upon the value of the company, if it were sold, and how much that would relate to the cost of buying back its shares by its purchaser. In other words (in Aim) they act more like a crypto-currency ?
