What has really changed - zero! The West, with first and foremost the US need to develop their own rare earth supply ad magnet production capabilities. Would hope that the sp now again looking like a decent entry point for a longer term investor with strategic thought

For me the only hype has been frenzied traders and short term investors getting into rare earths without any real research, just typical jump on the bandwagon of whats hot.

The hype recently has been about the new Chinese licencing restrictions and that took most rare earth stocks, especially those listed on Nasdaq to stratospheric levels. As expected neither US nor China will cut off their nose to spite their face and are giving each other another 12 months to sort out their rare earth and AI chip supply chains independent of each other. 12 moths is anyhow not enough time and I expect another extension further down the road.

What has not changed is that rare earths have become allot more important than in the past, especially the magnetic elements. The new AI, robotic and automated / unmanned economy relies on them like never before. In this respect

1. MKA has a ready to build mine

2. Key arrangement with a key chemical producer in Poland which remains very competitive as a European industrial center. There are key synergies to be located there

3. Hypromag has a very economical and most environmentally friendly recycling know how

Private investors will never learn, it is all induced fear and greed which results in them moving in the direction that the pro's want them to. This will never change unfortunately.

For me there is a long way up still for MKA, based on long term developments

Has been clear for a long while now that MKA are following a partnering model, as opposed to be pure licencing model as could have been adopted for Hypromag. This is an excellent way forward avoiding the needed roll-out of a centralised management and execution function spanning multiple jurisdictions, but giving more upside compared to a licencing arrangement and having local senior management close to their market and customers at each partner level.

Remains to be seen if the Asians (Japan, South Korea, India etc) accept a Hypromag partnering model. I guess this is what allot of background discussions are about at the moment

Hypromag USA moving ahead with realistic production end 2027

MKA is a decade (minimum) ahead of anything that can come from Turkey, if it is at all economical

So we will see in 10-15 years what these Turkish finds can bring to market

MKA may well be looking to sell down some shares in MKAR in order to get liquidity (Hypromsg UK/German, corporate expenses and so on).

Where I disagree with your view is that I do not see that we have run ahead of ourselves and the sp is exactly where it should be at a market cap of £200-220 million pounds.

I am not at all concerned with the final date of the SPAC, may still be end 2025 but yes beginning 2026 looking more likely each day. Yes the risk is that other funding options may need to be considered such as additional capital raise or offtake payments.

Also worth taking a step back and understanding what the US-China have agreed to. This is a delay to the new licencing regime China announced a few weeks ago, in return for a cut to US tariffs or non imposition of the 100% tariff

In effect this brings the situation back to where we were a few weeks ago an dis not a free flow of Chinese rare earths but less restriction on their supply as well as equipment to process them. To be honest I feel rare earth stocks are oversold on this news as the hot air has all gone some time ago.

On your point (1) I was listening to a someone on bloomberg who knows the listing rules and SEC methodologies. There is a work around on the SEC shutdown if a company wants to go down that path. This as I understood involves a listing range rather than set listing price and for some reason it works around the SEC review rule. If something is taking more time it is likely to be elsewhere

I see it as another positive. The major player in taking unrefined mining material out of Africa and processing at home is China. These bans (Malawi is for sure not the first) are good for developing supply chains outside China.
