Good post JF, only disagree with the last bit. Political media is free to broadcasters it costs them nothing so it's broadcast 24/7. It's impossible to have the gravitas of politicians of a bygone era, under today's intense media spotlight. I actually think politicians now are better than anything previously. Lots of good talent just below cabinet level.

Listen DCB you know absolutely sweet FA about global politics that's more than apparent from your preloquial Brussels worshipping outdated grip on reality. Im not sure your aware of the relevance of geography or not but from a strategic perspective the UK are extremely fortunate, we can stand on our own feet and can rattle swords with the likes of Sth Korea & Russia if necessary. There is absolutely no reason why the UK should remain in Europe and escort all the ugly sisters to the ball. Europe is and always will be a conglomerate of nation states with national identities. Our leaving the forcef EU will change the political landscape between Eurasia & America forever.We need to be more like the Japs...in the box seat.
