To be successful in business & life, you need to overcome difficulties you need a sense a personal responsibility, these are the attributes & core values i refer to & this is also what motivates him as a politician. Id expect that he sees himself as a role model (not exclusively for poor catholics either) for those that have fallen into the trap of ideological classification the left are quick to defend and maintain, those who have never worked, smoke, eat poor quality food through choice, those who dont exercise & spend a lifetime on benefits. Such people are bread & butter for the left, they spend their lives existing without any self respect with like minded folk on our estates they have few aspiration's and many will never leave the counties where they're born, its the left that perpetuate this. Politicians like JRM imo offer an alternative, hope & a way off the estate, he is an inspirational figure unlike Dianne Abbott who wants to build more estates and fill them with even more people the Left can control.

I wouldnt go so far as to say he has been criticised in the Catholic press for not supporting Labour but it is widely acnowledged that he sits detatched from whats normally associated with Catholasism interms of over reliance on the state & religion. I think this is because his family can be traced back to the reformation, he is an original English Catholic whos ancestors have invested in the UK for countless generations & the Catholic paradox has undoubtedly shaped the man and contributed to a honing of a sharp analytical mind.
