The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Simple question, did gangfeng just acquire BCN and their 8.8mt LCE at a valuation of ~£285m or not?
(PS i know the answer)
The 200 year LOM means they obviously have the ability to accelerate the extraction of that resource. The point is they are not light on resource. Some of the posts today are extraordinary.
Easily, this can get to 40p next week as long as the S&P plays ball. The only thing taking this lower will be a market sell-off, even then it would have to be pretty severe to take this down much. It’s still ridiculously undervalued.
Yep john, Redox flow batteries are pretty amazing, the favoured element not decided on yet - vanadium is one, sodium another. The key thing about them is the ability to charge and discharge at the same time, making them the holy grail for renewables. Can imagine in not too distant future, majority of stationary energy storage will be RFBs. Particularly exciting for somewhere like africa, loads of solar power and RFB networks wouldn’t need the electric grid system and the inefficiencies they incur. Can build the infrastructure pretty much from scratch.
Yep that’s well reasoned as always EV. I just disagree on the pricing, as we have zero leverage. Gangfeng know they are the only suitor in town, that asymmetry doesn’t tend to lead to premium pricing…
They just bought 8.8mt for £285m, they have alternative sources of resource other than those in mexilit concessions. Megalit is not even worth talkjng about imo. They will leave KM hanging as long as it takes, they know he has no other option. They will low ball and low ball again until KM says you know what I don’t need the hassle I’ve got a world class iron ore project to run and takes the cash.
I’d love it if you were right and I’m wrong, but I don’t see it. Happy to stand corrected if that is the case, as everyone should be if I’m right!
“I'm sorry it appears to have got your back up that a reliable source disagrees with your assertion that Sodium batteries are "not viable for vehicles".
You’re a bit over your skis here aren’t you. I didn’t say that. You fail to understand the difference between redox flow and ion batteries, the former i said was not applicable to EVs, the latter i said were, but the sodium-ion technology isn’t there and isn’t a threat to lithium ion. It’s the redox flow process that isn’t applicable as it would result in lots of electrolyte solution sloshing around.
Tell the bloke down the pub i said hi, at least he’d know what i was talking about.
Which they can take out the plan whenever they please. They have a 200 year LOM, it’s not like they need the resource. Then what do we have for sale - a 30% stub in an asset the whose acquirer has no influence over it’s production plans or timeframe. People tend to not like to pay up for that sort of thing…
Anyone wonder why KM forgot to even mention this asset in the last podcast?
Focus on amapa and EMH guys. I’ll leave you to argue over how big the pot of gold is at the end of the mexilit rainbow…
I’m sure you would like to use that tomcat.
I’d prefer to stay within the realms of reality.
Sonora project NPV as a whole 2018 $1.25bn
Scoping study from 2014 for 2 concessions NPV $2bn of which we own 30% minority stake and have no control.
Keep believing man and pass it to me on the left hand side.
Gangfeng just bought the whole shooting match of 8.8mt for £285m, they have total control. If you think someone is going to pay near $200m for a minority interest in 500k attributable resource that isn’t slated to be mined for >10 years, over which you have no control. (Which is also part of a larger mine that has a 200 year LOM - lol), then i want some of what you’re smoking.
Focus on amapa and EMH, they are outstanding assets and worth many multiples of the current sp. The rest is a sideshow. I’m a big KDNC fan an hold quite a lot of shared i have no intention of selling anywhere near here, but let’s keep it real.
Exactly.
Who can tell me the JORC resource attributable to KDNC from the mexilit concession, other than the roughly 500k inferred from the scoping study?
Megalit obviously hasn’t had enough work done on it to have an official resource.
