Be careful what you wish for. Mike Ashley has a large stake here, another interested party and he is toast.
And we certainly one who does.
Not if more than one party wants it.
There must be a few now at this very low SP who are eyeing Debenhams up. Look out for that bid.
Whooo Crowman,looks like I touched a nerve there,calm down man,tis only a Bulletin Board,not a life or death situation.
Have said the same thing Pokerchips, yes we could expect some interest from the far east. Hopefully MA doesn't get it all his own way.
Do you really think he is long with a 250k investment and then knocking the stock.Hmmm

Is Southampton some depleted area then? Looked in both Saturday and Sunday in my local Debenhams and it was packed. Christmas has started I thought but then I guess it is late October.
Sometimes I just wonder who is paying for some of these articles to be written. Now if you were after buying the Debenhams chain at reduced prices then a few articles printed in your favour would be peanuts in cost.
I see that the short position has reduced again,it's now at 10.97% declared.
Was over 15% at one time.
It may be that that 1.1/2 million buy after hours is yet another reduction in the short position,as yet to be declared
mannan ,would you kindly repeat your post in English please.
I see that GSA Capital Partners reduced their short position a tad on the 23rd Oct.
No rights issue and no CVA, says it all really.
Shorty it's getting cold now, time to put those LONG trousers on.
Doncaster DEBS is great but Im not so sure about the football team :)
Scotter….Just jog on.
From another board but I agree entirely.
It seems that all of the press artciles quoted here are essentially reiterating the same story /speculation.
There are a couple of things being missed though :
1. The £100m cash saving that Debs are said to be targetting, comes from £30m suspended dividend and £70m capex reductions. Nothing directly to do with store closures.
2. The much vaunted c. 50 stores to close relates to the view (repeated in several but not all of the articles) that " Debenhams could shrink its business to around 100 outlets in the coming years."
We will hear more about this on Thursday and whilst there is every chance of hearing that there will be additional near term closures beyond the 10 already in the pipeline; those peddling the idea that 50 stores will be closing imminently are making it up to suit there own ends.
Well done Nokesa. Nice trade but I am also rubbish at day trading so that's why I don't do it. If that had been me I would most certainly have lost. Buy and hold for me.Now go and treat yourself.
Did you buy back in the last half hour Nokesa, that could have been the reason.
