Mine is 154 so we are practically in the same boat.
I'd love 160 but will exit anywhere above 156 and sit on my dry powder (and profit) for a while.
@big-blue
'So I predict a very rapid and sharp rebound.'
But two days ago you posted that you wished you'd never bought IAG shares.
I enjoy many of your posts but feel you have a bi-polar way of posting either good or bad gut feeling sentiment based on where the SP goes on a daily basis.
You can't cry into your beer one day then put champers on ice the next. Come on man, wait for your exit strategy (I think it's 180?) and enjoy the ride.
True, but we are not talking about the state of your mind, we are talking about how a possible reduction of 13,000 employees at AA will impact IAG.
@justice4us
'Realistically, do you see a way out for IAG in light of the AA announcement?'.
If we take the AA announcement in context, as you would like us to do, in reference to IAG, let's look at some scope.
AA is a monumentally huge airline and company.
AAs fleet is larger than all of IAGs 5 member airlines combined.
Despite AA recording a huge loss last month it still has over $14 billion in reserve.
IAG has approx €8 billion.
Remember, AA is a single company, IAG a 'group'.
If AA only need 13,000 possible redundancies how does that square with your view that there is no way out for IAG?
IAG has restructured its member airlines and is a far nimbler group and more easily able to change to ever moving market conditions.
So I don't personally see any impact on IAG due to AAs announcement.
'I’m almost certain tomorrow it will be 3 or 4 percent up for starters.'
Well let's hope your right. I want you to be right.
We shall see.
@Jay93
'I feel this will hit 1.20 in the next 2 weeks because of everything you have just mentioned and more.'
I'm flattered you would think so. But if all the factors I've mentioned have completely failed to lift the SP, what other news, apart from 'sentiment' will lift the SP by 28p in your two week window.
Remembering that including today, two weeks with non trading weekends is 10 days.
To be absolutely clear, I am NOT deramping this share or company. I fully research companies I invest in and want to invest in. I've invested in Rolls before and will again.
So I'm asking you, as you started this thread and that your talking from your experience, what news will rocket the price. Seeing as, which is derided by many, Rolls was downgraded to junk status today.
@Jay93
'I can see this hitting 1.20 within 2 weeks.'
Whilst I believe everyone invested would wish that were true, on exactly what are you basing this prediction?
The last time Rolls SP was around and above 120 was about Dec 10th last year.
Since then the SP has been in a slow but steady decline. This is despite during that period of time -
Two successful Covid Vaccines.
A third on the way.
Over 10million individual UK doses now given to the population.
A major restructuring of RR and redundancies including the on paper disposal of ITP Aero.
A commitment to future develop single aisle aircraft engines.
A contract to build and service US Navy ship engines.
A memorandum with the British government to build mini nuclear reactors.
A known 'Golden share' held by the UK government basically guaranteeing non insolvency or a full take over (but not a merger say with BAE) by a foreign company that is not in the interest of Rolls and its strategic importance to the UK.
A fully profitable Arms and defence division.
A full undrawn line of credit.
Billions in reserve and a much decreased cash burn.
Not one of these factors (sadly) has raised the SP.
I've posted here before that no matter how diverse Rolls is (and it is) it will always be seen as making the majority of its income from Aero Engine maintenance. RR geared this huge revenue stream pre Covid and was hugely profitable. No one could see the pandemic coming and the Rolls board cannot be blamed for the ongoing damage to its bottom line. Despite, in my view, there were years of mismanagement before though this but was offset by huge income and profits.
I'm a fan of Rolls. I'm not going to lie, I currently have no Skin in the game for transparency.
But I ask you, taking all that into account, can you give me, a potential re investor, enlightenment of your 28p rise in SP over the next two weeks.
Good to hear from you Robby. Hope you sort your 'stuff' out fellah.
Here's hoping you get your 160+ waaaaaay before March.
Well I wish you well. I'm waiting for a lower entry point. Good luck
Yes WAM I saw you asking for info there after I made my post. I'm surprised you would need to ask BB members there for advice and why it's drop in sp as the company holds little to no debt.
We all kneel before your ever seeing eye and complete knowledge of every company listed.
Even though not one of your predictions here or indeed over at Rolls have come to fruition. To reiterate, not one. NADA. None. Nil. Zero.
That said, I've traded CEY a bit and HOC with some success. I currently have no skin in either. So for once, I'm genuinely interested to hear your entry point to invest in CEY?
@Dagger
It was literally only a matter of time until the misery reveller that is WAM turned his attention to the CEY board.
I sold my CEY shares a while back but when I've posted over there before I'm staggered at the width and breadth of knowledge those guys have.
WAM will find it far harder to dredge up news that they don't already know and will soon bust his flush as you can't 'wing it' over there.
Hope your well pal.
'I should have known better and focused soley on UK based, owned and independant companies that have no ties with the EU. Live and learn.'
With respect, name one that fits all three of those self set criteria. That would also give a good return on your investment.
About to go over 15.2 again.
Hope the FX didn't take too much shine off your profit.
Even I don't think AMC will make $100.
But $20 possible IF the guys piling into GME shift fully to AMC.
Enjoy your 90% profit. Well deserved for taking the punt.
GLA DYOR
Good job. Weekend drinks are on you!
With your punt on AMC.
Think we will all be watching

As I posted earlier this evening. Without joy, 'they' will always find a way to stop the PIs rocking the boat.
GLA DYOR
I'm good thanks Dagger.
There is some chatter and noise that the Reddit boys are behind tonight's rise in GBR.
Small oil and gas company. No company updates, a dinosaur in Bidens eyes.
Up 920%. Something's going on.
Remarkably, all airline stocks are up today from 4 to 5.8% (for Wizz).
By percentage rise, IAG has done better than EZJ.
It would cost you £44 for a single share in Wizz.
Therefore, you can get a far bigger gain from owning IAG than Wizz over today's price rise at a much cheaper 'in' price.
That is why after Lloyds, IAG is one of the most traded shares on the FTSE.
It's all relative. DYOR
@Big
'But I would expect to see flashes of similar action here and there. Good luck to them. If they wouldn't mind dropping me a line on their next target.....'
I'll give that a hell yeah...
BUT....
Working as a collective to achieve any goal works only as long as everyone is pulling in the same direction and to the same end.
And new 'members and money' is needed in this instance to keep the SP flying.
Eventually people will profit take, it's why we all invest. And then move on.
Once the 'collective' decide job done and move on, what is left of the companies bet on?
I'm all for a punt and I certainly am not against what the Reddit guys are doing at all. If you (or I ) had the good fortune of hindsight and got in at say $30 a pop, would have ridden it as high as your blood pressure would allow.
You may then watch the drop, get back in and ride again. Good work if you can get it.
Invest, reap, repeat.
I think the initial question was is this a long term game changer. I would like to think so, but think as soon as the institutions get wind of the next Reddit go to, will put brakes on how much you can buy and as my platform has, limit exposure.
But for now, rock on Reddit
