I would say there's now more to this delay than a new rig and there is something much more fundamental than that. Hence the need for Asher to fly in for the summit meeting a few weeks back.

AP has probably given up on VAST and is pursuing his own interests in Tajikistan at the expense of VAST shareholders. Vast may cease to exist in 2026.

So one way or another an update should be put out by 10th January.

There's a very bad smell about this company and the behaviour of the share price. Something is clearly not right here.

If Asher can't provide a guarantee of rig availability and a time line for the drill then there is no point the Cameroons giving approval. The Cameroons will want to be sure that Asher delivers after having already had 2 extensions which failed.

I suspect this is the sticking point.

Agreed, a steady flow of news is needed to support the share price, so maybe that's the plan.
