Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
I think we will need a lot of coal
According to Uk gov we went from 10%renewables to 20% renewables from 2000-2019. In the pandemic very little new renewables came on line. And I imagine the planning process froze too ?
By my reckoning we will double again by 2040, but that’s only the electric … it won’t provide enough for transport and heating. We need 14x the power or efficiency gains of 93%… I’ve never seen that rate of technical improvement in 20 years!
Cellphone brick to iPhone = 30 years
Lead battery milk floats to Ni-cad batteries- ni-mh -electric cars… 50 years
Landing in the moon to space tourism 40 years
Coal fires, storage heaters, gas combi boilers to condensing boilers, to air source heat pumps 60 years
I would buy up some fleeces before they ban oil to make them
The FCA are utterly useless. The manipulation in the UK is rampant and out of control yet I don’t know of any prosecutions ! Let alone jail time.
If you did this stuff in the USA you would be in fear of significant jail time.
Not in a softy Nicey Uk , tuck you up with coco and biscuits, (and a spliff ) jail
I watched remotely , lol
As for the wheel washing water!
Firstly it’s about 100 gallons…
Secondly the IOW is not self sufficient in water and the excess is supplied by pipeline from my local river.
Southern water wanted to build a desalination plant to secure supplies to the “ biosphere “ so they had enough water to give to the tourists coming for the TT and Rally motor sports they are now proposing on the “eco-Island”
I watch the ferry full of M&S lorries, petrol and diesel tankers..
I found the oil fired power station and the oil depot , and the new gas pipe terminal
Let’s flick the switch , just for a week …
Cllr Bacon has clearly made up his mind BEFORE the committee meeting in his press release and in the newspaper. However I believe he is still an independent with one supporting councillor , it’s not clear how the others think.
It is inappropriate as a councillor, to take to the newspaper before a committee meeting. It might be that he is showboating to try and get elected,
If he had wide support in the committee he would be ringing round checking others views? Not taking to the newspaper
New laws are coming soon…
They only need to be rude once to the land owner or rightfull occupier once.

I expect this to pass late 2021
If we stopped wasting money on educating people in university who shouldn’t be there or doing the wrong courses. we don’t need 33,000 media students each year!
And only 9 000 medical students! FFS.
If these bozos studied to be electricians or air con engineers they could install the 30 million air source heat pumps , Mind you that’s going to need a lot of materials, air con gas, plastic pipes, antifreeze, compressors.. copper…
Also the government rightly won the north sea court case vs GreenPeace so Sarah Finch doesn’t have a chance
Clearly produced oil can have many destinations.
We agreed to count emissions at the point of use, not production.
To count it at production and use would be false accounting!
You can use a barrel of oil and produce goods, you can use it in the Uk or abroad.
You can use it as lubricant
You can burn it inefficiently. Such as swamps 29 year olds 3.0 diesel merc , you can use it in a modern diesel with add blu with low emissions , or use it with carbon capture .
But Sarah Finch and GreenPeace want to count it twice..
In my opinion
The EA permit for HH is a game changer .
It increases the permitted gas allowed to be flared, the water can be increased without shipping costs.
It could increase production rates at HH significantly
What day did the price rise on the Loxley inquiry to “ build in” the result? I must have missed it. :) , but the result is due and return of costs
Turkey seismic… well I would sure like to see some positive news and site action
And the Horse hill high court action is a win both ways for UKOG, We get permission to produce for 20 years and some costs back.
Or…
Surrey have to remind planning consent and compensate for 20 years lost production
And the rise is actually due to the IOW Arreton planning recommendation… and none of the above :)

HH waiting for the EA permit for reinjection
Loxley waiting for the planning inquiry result due around Oct 13th to meet the average decision time
IOW should get an off iris report today or Monday and planning meeting on the 19th
Turkey waiting for the seismic / interpretation. Then can they continue drilling testing throug the winter? Or do we need a new pad elsewhere?
Horse Hill well no3 is required to meet the field development plan… The oil ( Kim and Portland) is still there. Can they get it to flow?
Not that drill or drop reports that the two highest producing wells in the uk also have the highest water cut.. so is that the future of HH? Get the water injection licence and increase production?
