Bens Creek said it had noted the jump in the share price yesterday and confirmed majority shareholder MBU Capital is in talks to sell a large part of its holding.
MBU currently owns 53.7% of the coal miner and is in advanced discussions to reduce this through a sale at 18p a share that will see an unnamed international commodity trading business take a 29.9% stake, said Bens Creek’s statement.
Bens Creek is not a party to the proposed transaction, it added, nor is it not aware of any commercial or operational reason for the share price movement.
AIM-listed Bens Creek runs a metallurgical coal mine in West Virginia.
Shares yesterday rose to 19p from 16.8p at the open.

3 issues:
1) need to prove they know how to monetise discoveries to date.
* Lack of director buying suggests to me that's exactly what's going on now.
2) they are completely at the behest of equinor.
* Equinor won't be waiting on LBE to develop the joint discoveries, which will come onstream to Equinor's time frame, considering surrounding reserves possible unitisation and infrastructure .
3) very small fish in big pond
* Agreed, and therein lies the opportunity, excellent management team with integrity, priced to go bust, which imho won't be happening.

The going concern paragraph could apply to almost every oil and gas exploration play on aim, one sentence in said paragraph has been highlighted and taken out of context, added.
If its and am's were pots and pans there'd be no need for tinkers.
The price of oil went negative, do we think it's going there again? Probably not, you'd like to think the West has collectively learnt its lesson on relying on cheap commodities from unfriendly jurisdictions.
Besides 70% of production is forward sold, price locked in. Granted who knows what the future holds either way
" Sienna69 also worth remember if the price of coal goes back to around $225 Bens Creek is unprofitable"
Doesn't quite work like that John Henry, some of the costs of production are linked to the spot price of coal, transportation for example.
So it seems the royal mail heathrow depot came under cyber attack tonight, don't know how bad, but mail has been diverted away I'm hearing.

Requisition the BOD is perhaps what your implying, first point of call is its broker, get them onside, you only need 5% to Requisition the bod for their removal, although you'd need credible replacement management team, again look to the broker.
Anyway, bought a few as cash shells, worse case scenario, imho are thin on the ground with new regulations.
Adam Wilson, Chief Executive of Bens Creek, said; 'We are very pleased with our progress to date and our ability to remove substantial levels of debt from our balance sheet which in turn will bring cash flow improvement taking us nearer towards being able to provide a maiden dividend for our shareholders.'
Oh yes
