Troubles & Nige Hi,
The walk was great and going again tomorrow in the sun if it comes out.
Troubles,
Just a point re cscs and law.
To work on a construction site there is no legal obligation to have a card before you work on site. However, all the major contractors who are members of UKCG have agreed that workers on their sites need to have a CSCS card. The law requires that those participating in construction work must be Competent.
Nige,
Anyone that has served an apprenticeship and is trained in their skill can carry out any associated works but any final connections to say a boiler must hold CORGI registration and must hold that certification before the boiler can be used.
Its the same as electrical, any one trained can install an installation but that installation must be inspected and tested by a qualified NIC/ EIC engineer and he will issue the required NIC/EIC certification to say the installation is up to the standards required.
You do not need a CSCS card unless as on most Major UK construction site it is called for, then you must take the relevant safety test then apply for your CSCS card for the trade of your needs.
ATB and have a good week.
Tom :-)
