Trippe how can you make such a comment about insults and childish commentary ????? You have only been with LSE for 6 days and been a Member Since: Fri, 6th Apr 2018. All of your post has been offensive and has nothing to do with ITV or their shares so why bother posting ? just to annoy others I assume with nothing better to do with your time. It might be a good idea for you to pop down the pub now and again and make some new friends and make your time a bit more meaningful rather than throwing insults at others on here and on the TW board. I do not know you but recall the last banned poster Liberalman who hurled nearly the exact same abusive comments as you. Hi ya all, I would not really worry about the record date its the Ex Divi date that counts. The ex-dividend date is normally two business days before the record date. If you purchase a stock on or after its ex-dividend date, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you will get the dividend.

The count hi, Without seeming to give out any financial advise the following are the rules. You must own and have the shares the day before the ex dividend day so in this case you must hold by closing on the 11th April and as Arsenal says would be best to purchase the day before on the 10th to ensure you are registered with those shares. Davie Hi, Yes the plonkers are back, and who cares as NONE of them hold ITV OR TW shares, but want to waste their unfortunate time taking the rise out of people trying to make a bob or two. Just a quick note with my surprise that we did not see a rally this week. I would have thought we would have seen 155+ at least ?? All markets down today so that might be why. Oh well. GLA Tom :-)

Owls hi, You are correct but what if the SP rises in the next 2/4 weeks after you sold at 150 and no divi. Yes you do get 150. It is not the case every time that the SP falls on the ex divi date as pointed out with TW on the 5th the SP increased from 184 to 186+ on the same day and has got better since,with also a 2.44 divi to come. The ITV dividend is paid this year on 24th May so there is time for the SP to recover from an anticipated fall, plus you get your 5.28pps divi. The worse case is that if you sell you do not get the divi and if the SP rises its more expensive to buy back in plus the stamp duty. Personally I believe that we have had very bad luck over the past year and IMO this is about to change for the better. Whatever to do good luck but personally I will hold out for the divi and a possible future rise. If you do not need the money why not hold out ? ATB Tom :-)))))))

Owl Hi, Did you read my earlier post Today 16:11. In a lots of cases the share price falls that of the dividend or there about. So if the divi is 5p and the current SP is say 150 that would take you to 155 if you hold out for that divi. It helps to then hold as the SP could fall from the 150 back around 145 but you still have the divi to come on payment date. However the SP could then rise after a few weeks ( or it could fall further ) to lets say 160 and you still have the divi to come taking you up to 165 then you could sell if you want with a nice profit. This has just happened to TW as my earlier post. The SP did not fall and in fact it had a very nice rise plus the divi to come on payout day. Lets look at it another way. If the SP here had a good rise to say 160 tomorrow I would consider a sell of around 50% then hold out the other 50% for the divi then hold them until a later date or until they had a rise, no point in selling any at a loss. Even if the SP dropped to say 140 you already have the 50% cash that you sold at 160, then maybe buy more shares at a much lower price. Hope that makes some sense. Marine hi, Just take a look at TW as their divi ( 2.44pps ) was on 5th April and they were 184 at the time just five days later they are live now at 190.25 so IMO ITV could do the same as they are already low as far as I am concerned. As you are well aware they could also fall at the same rate. On the other hand if we see a rally up to and including tomorrow this may cancel out any fall, so its up to the individual to make the right choice. Out for the time being at 38.056 on 3rd before this update. Not sure when to get back due to the ( IMO ) poor future outlook. Main reason was to buy other shares for up and coming good dividends. Good luck to all. Kind regards Tom :-)
