I think they're lost in the African bush. Bernie is saying 'I swear Bougouni is back that way, we passed it an hour ago'.
The name of the big pharma was originally undisclosed, which is why you won't find a reference to Janssen. I guess now we know who we're dealing with.
It's only FDA approval for them to start a phase I study. That is the very start of a long and expensive process before the drug goes to market, so I'm not surprised people aren't too excited by the news.
I'm still waiting on long overdue (I'm sure Stampy said Q1 2021...) news about the unnamed big pharma collab. A license deal is what will get this company back on track.
Just google 'South Africa' and look at the news. The company seems to be doing fine but the country is in a mess at the moment...
Not sure in what way I'm laughing at or mocking anyone. That's in your head...
I'm here to discuss MTPH. This is 'Midatech Pharma Share Chat', right? I'm a long term holder; admittedly I take profit on every spike and buy back in later but I'd still say I'm loyal and believe in the potential of the company.
You can't just jump in because you saw it suddenly rise and wanted a slice of the pie, then suddenly be the expert and flag carrier for the share. We discuss the company here, the ups and downs, the good, the bad and the ugly. If you don't like that that then maybe it's you who needs to move on.
The breakthrough, as it stands, is kinda worthless. It's only if a company takes the bait and a collaboration is set up that value can be realised. It's like inventing instant coffee, but nobody in the world has the means to heat up water, so the coffee can't be consumed - the coffee won't have any value in that situation (crude analogy, I know).
Also I don't believe the sp is being manipulated. It spikes everytime there is news; you can see on the chart that the spikes correlate to significant RNSs. I have a few vague theories as to why it does but nothing concrete.
The breakthrough is great, I believe this company has so much potential with it's pipeline. I do however share the apprehension with some of the other longer term holders and that's the fact that despite all it's potential, this company is not making any money, it keeps getting the donations bucket out and diluting shareholders.
As for the global healthcare company, I'm not sure. They've been very secretive about it... The number of products they've been working on went from one to four which is encouraging. I think this is most likely gamechanger for mtph and hopefully we'll be updated soon as to how that is going.
It's in the 26th Jan 2021 Business Update RNS.
'The collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd was mutually terminated.'
I don't want to be rain on your parade but it's important for people to know facts about the company (I'm a holder myself, before anyone points the deramping finger...).
'Collaboration with Dr Reddies - Billion Dollar pharmaceutical Company. FACT'
Wrong. That collaboration was mutually terminated earlier this year.
It has already been paid. It was hidden in the depths of the last RNS.
'Kodal has continued to work closely with the Mali government to progress the Mining Licence Application, and as previously announced, has both received the request for and paid the Mining Licence Application fee. '
If it went up 50% there would probably be a reason, so the answer would be yes, but if you put the 6 month charts together, only major events show a matching increase. These little pre-market up 5/10%s you keep commenting on do not reflect in our share price. There is a lot more liquidity in the US, presumably due to a larger number of investors. Their price fluctuates a lot, we usually get less than 10 trades a day which rarely changes the SP.
Surely by now you've been watching long enough to realise there is no correlation with nasdaq sp movement and lse's sp...
Meant to say 'can', not can't.
Perhaps you should consider stopping investing in stocks tryharder. If you can't cope emotionally with the ups and downs and are losing money as a result you're in the wrong game, for the sake of your finance and mental well-being. It can't get a heck of a lot worse than this stock, believe me...
Rocky B*stard, Hotel California and Seabiscuit will be the next areas they seek licences for.
It's what Stampy gave as an estimate in an interview, but nothing certain. I'm not sure if it was based on the Dr. Reddys collab but hopefully not because that's no more. Would be nice to get some positive news re: the unnamed global pharma before the quarter ends.
Where's whatamess today? He needs to come along and tell us that pigeons are carrying a 10x deadlier Covid variant and the sp will hit 50p.
I think it's probably an older interview to be honest, Gray. I can't see them declaring via an official RNS that the partnership is off then stating it's back on in an unofficial interview without informing shareholders.
I think as the dollar weakens they might be paying more attention to foreign companies. Also there is the massive population difference between us and the US. That's two theories I have. Another is that the US investors might just be a bit more Gung Ho/Confident about throwing money about... All speculation though.
The site doesn't know which is a buy or a sell, so it has to guess based on what side of the mid price the value of the transaction was, and often it gets it wrong. Sometimes when I buy shares I get them for less than the mid price on LSE at the time and it registers as a sell. I don't think the site is trying to be misleading or manipulative (at least in this regard...).
