First of all, I genuinely mean no malice with this post. However, I’ve given this a bit of thought and come to the conclusion there’s a strong possibility that IDW might be somewhat on the spectrum and if so, new members need to be made fully aware of what’s been going on for months here. I think this could explain a lot in his/her high post count with it being extremely negatively fixated without any leeway or movement regardless of new information coming to light. My autistic nephew has very similar fixation traits, little bit robotic and devoid of ‘personality’ in response to messages and not at all in tune with social cues around him (I still love him to bits obviously).
If this is the case then I apologise if I’ve been a little hard in my criticism of indepth. But it might do him/her well to try and take a step back from where he/she is and try to understand not everything is quite so black and white. Rather than just being fixated on the numbers and figures, some consideration needs to be taken to the potential social recovery aspect of Cineworld. Humans by and large are social creatures and crave new experiences. What’s happened this last year has pretty much held back the social aspect of humanity for nigh on a year and we‘ve now become DESPERATE to get back to the norm.
Streaming services may have surged in this time (and have been a godsend let’s be honest), but I promise you as soon as people feel safe again, they’ll be out and about with a new found respect and love for things they took for granted before, cinema, the arts, clubs, social groups - you name it. For instance, my partner has had to shield this last year which has pretty much curtailed what we’ve been able to do sociably. We’ll both get the vaccine as soon as we can because we are just desperate to get out again (safely). Yes we’ll keep Netflix/Prime etc. going but it’ll be largely on the back burner for the odd nights in it was originally designed for. The first thing we will be doing is renewing our Unlimited cards (if they still offer it!!) for one of our midweek nights out again. We’re guaranteed at least a year’s worth of blockbusters and I know we won’t be alone. I expect cinemas will be absolutely ram-packed next year.
