Having listened to Shaun Day discussing this on several occasions and formats now, he is clearly frustrated about it and no doubt wished it had never happened, especially on the terms on which it's based. However, from those same discussions, I 100% agree with you, and wish him every best on achieving it! TT

The Havieron JV between Newcrest Mining and London-listed Greatland Gold continues to grow, with the gold/copper resource extending over at least 1 kilometre of continuous mineralisation.

In a filing late last week in the UK, Greatland Gold said seven drill rigs were currently on-site, with the South East Crescent, Eastern Breccia and Northern Breccia mineralised area the focus for further exploration.

Greatland said the recent drilling had extended South East Crescent’s mineralisation a further 100 metres below the current mineral resource estimate. Greatland Gold said South East Crescent continued to remain open at depth.

Well, I don't see much of a direct connection between the thread title, "WTF just happened to the share price?" and the following posts, but, rather than wasting another thread, I'll just say that, should the GGP share price continue to remain, essentially, static, or fall further on Monday, when the POG is up, and VanEck ETF's are up, it'll be just another indication that our sp is being manipulated!

If anyone had their doubts, Monday will probably be, yet another indication as to what's going on!

That all said, the vast majority of us know where we're actually going, medium/long term, without any doubt, whatsoever!

Yup, the gold market was trading sharply higher yesterday. A big sell off in the U.S. stock market has clearly prompted some safe-haven demand with the POG moving from a three-week low early yesterday and then reversing to a four-week high at $1872.

@ Sojourner To be honest, I didn't know about that, but my point was that 200 sounds very limited, and although I totally respect any work that speedy has done on this, I'd expect a significantly higher interest. I stand corrected, but maybe it needs looking at later, when we're at that point. TT

As Shaun Day stated in Liam's first interview, "I'm also, I know it's something that's appeared on social media a few people have mentioned and I think a group called Callidus in Australia has just done it, that's from that first gold pour doing some commemorative kind of gold coins. I think they're pretty special and I’ll certainly be lining up for one."

@ speedymeadie I don't know anything about your calculations, but what makes you think that a smallish initial run would be just 200?

I've said, tongue in cheek, that maybe some of the wording should read the likes of "For those that had the faith".

Just wondered what others thought could be worded on the coin?!

There is a very small spread currently, and some sells may be showing as buys, and vice versa.

I'd always believed that the shares were be drip-fed into the market, as required for their desired outcome. There is surely no need to sell in one lot?

Indeed. and that's why I don't understand when some people continually say that the 60m shares being shorted, out of c. 4.5 bn in issue, is tiny, or inconsequential. Surely it depends on the volume of shares being traded?! If only a small volume of the issued shares are being traded, then the 'shorters' 60m shares have a bigger impact. However, please inform me if i'm wrong in that assumption. TT

GREATLAND Gold has released results from growth drilling at the Havieron project, in which it owns 30% in joint venture with gold major Newcrest Mining.

Greatland Gold shares were up 0.2% to 12.2p in late morning trading on Thursday, following the company’s development and exploration update from its Havieron gold-copper project in Western Australia.

Greatland Gold announced that the South East Crescent high grade zone had been identified as extending over 1,000 metres of continuous mineralisation, and remained open, alongside high grade results within the Northern Breccia which continued to demonstrate potential further high-grade mineralisation adjacent to the South East Crescent Zone.

The mining group is scheduled to launch an extensive drilling programme across the next 12 months to provide the opportunity to expand its Havieron asset...
